Horiana Irwin-Easthope

Horiana Irwin-Easthope (Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kahungunu, Rakaipāka) is a Solicitor at Kahui Legal, where she assists clients in litigation, environmental regulatory matters, Treaty of Waitangi settlement negotiations and commercial transactions. Horiana has particular experience working with hapu and iwi collectives primarily in the context of environmental and commercial negotiations.

Prior to starting at Kahui Legal, Horiana worked in a large national law firm in their Maori Legal, Resource Management and Commercial Litigation Teams. Whilst completing her undergraduate studies, Horiana worked in the public and tertiary education sectors. In her time in the public sector Horiana focused on whanau development projects and legal mechanisms for the protection of matauranga Maori. In May 2014, Horiana graduated with an LLM (Masters of Law) from Harvard University.

Horiana retired from the Motu Board of Trustees in July 2017.
