NZ is similar to the rest of the world in that the gender pay gap is larger among parents than people without children. Research from Isabelle Sin, Kabir Dasgupta and Gail Pacheco shows the hourly wage difference was 5.7 percent between similar men and women without children, but 12.5 percent between men and women who were parents.
