Feb 19, 2024

Motu is happy to announce our newest Fellow, Tadhg Ryan-Charleton who has joined us this February.

Tadhg's expertise in Strategic Management complements Motu’s existing capabilities and strengthens our commitment to Productivity and Innovation in New Zealand.

Tadhg has recently returned to Aotearoa after several years in the UK. As a Senior Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast, Tadhg led courses on Strategic Management for undergraduates, MBA students and executives.

Tadhg studies factors affecting various dimensions of organisational performance, including knowledge and innovation outcomes, competitive positioning and financial outcomes. Tadhg has a specific interest in inter-organisational partnerships, how they can be evaluated and improved, and how they contribute to performance in the private and public sectors.

He primarily uses econometric techniques to analyse wide-ranging archival datasets, including annual accounts, questionnaire data, patent applications and stock market data. Tadhg’s work on inter-organisational partnerships, and the interplay of competition and cooperation, has been published in top academic journals globally including the Journal of Management and Academy of Management Annals.

Tadhg is a Fulbright Scholar and holds a PhD from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He serves on the Membership Engagement Committee for the Strategic Management Division of the Academy of Management, the global professional body for management research.

Tadhg is chairing a Virtual Panel Discussion on the Public Policy Contributions of Strategic Management on 13 March, at 07:30-08:30AM NZT. All are welcome to attend by registering here.
