This presentation explores factors associated with receiving and moving off social welfare benefits in Britain. There is much interest in the dynamics of receiving welfare and in comparing these dynamics across countries.
The research presented here models the dynamics of receiving social welfare in Britain using data from the British Household Panel Survey, and will discuss definitional, data, and modelling issues relevant for studies of these dynamics in different countries.
